Steve Nelson, CFA

Steve Nelson and Susan Anastasiadis co-founded Capital Insight Partners in 2008. Steve leads the firm and has extensive experience in portfolio management for both individuals and institutions. Prior to entering the investment field, he spent four years in ministry.  In 2023, Steve and his wife Kris were presented with the chance to purchase Faith Investor Services.  The Nelson’s said yes as this firm blends two values they hold dear;  namely, seeking investment performance in a faithful manner. Steve is a portfolio manager on the FIS Christian Stock Fund (ticker symbol: PRAY) which trades on the New York Stock Exchange.

Before launching Capital Insight Partners, Steve was with Merrill Lynch in Scottsdale.  Prior to Merrill, he served as a Principal at Lowry Hill and was on the team that managed over $6 billion. He has more than three decades of experience. Steve leads the strategic direction of Capital Insight Partners and serves on the investment committee.

Steve’s degrees are a Bachelor of Science from St. John’s University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the Phoenix CFA Society and CFA Institute. He is a past Trustee of the Phoenix Art Museum and a former member of the Board of Directors of the CFA Society of Minnesota and the Catholic Community Foundation. In 2008, St. John’s University honored him with a Presidential Citation. He is a Knight of Malta.  Steve’s wife Kris is a veterinarian and the author of Coated With Fur: A Vet’s Life and Coated With Fur: A Blind Cat’s Love. They live with wonderful, if medically challenged, animals.
